FAQ

How can I participate?

We believe in decentralised organisation. There are several ways to get involved with Artists for Future:

  • Contact a Fridays for Future local group near you and ask them which planned events still require artistic activities. But perhaps the conversation will also lead to completely new ideas. Experience has shown that the local groups are very open to artists who want to get involved.
  • Become a member of the Telegram Group, which regularly publishes support requests to Artists for Future, and get involved in actions that you find exciting. Details can be found here: artistsforfuture.org/en/participate
  • Many of our artists are already connected via Facebook, both via a page and in a group.
  • Sign up soon for our regional email newsletter to receive specific information when someone is seeking out Artists for Future in your region. At the moment we are still working on the technical requirements, the possibility to register is expected to be released mid-May.

How do I stay informed about “Artists for Future” as an artist?

Why are there “Artists for Future” and how did the statement come about?

You can read about our story here: artistsforfuture.org/en/why/

How do the artists who have already signed the statement advocate more climate and environmental protection?

This greatly varies, since the possibilities for this vary greatly from one artistic sector to the next. Some artists primarily make sure that the topic remains present in the public by mentioning the climate crisis, others perform at demonstrations or deal with ideas for more climate and environmental protection in the artistic process. Everybody has their own answers to the questions that arise in this context. The artists are united by the awareness that the goals formulated in the Paris Climate Agreement can only be achieved through far-reaching political measures. Politics therefore has a more decisive role to play here than the private actions of individuals.

May I use the logo of the “Artists for Future” freely?

Yes, as long as it is used in a context that supports the aims of the Fridays for Future movement. The logo can be downloaded here: png 400×400 pixel
